Digital 3D Cinema Upgrade at The Movies at Midway in Rehoboth Beach, DE:
MTS upgraded two theaters at the Movies at Midway for digital 3D. The upgrade included the installation of NEC 1600 Digital Cinema Projectors, interfacing the computer controlled lighting and screen masking with the server, updating the sound system for digital cinema, equalizing and balancing the sound in the theater to meet Dolby and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences standards.
Theater Equipment Sales and Service
35mm screening of Departures, winner of the Montreal festival's grand prize, audience awards in Hawaii and Palm Springs, and, of course, the Oscar® for Best Foreign Language Film of 2008. Presented at the Harman Center for the Arts.
Independent Film Festival, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
MTS provides video projection equipment and support for screening the video submissions for this annual five-day award winning festival.
Charlottesville, Virginia
MTS provides 35mm and video projection support and technical advising for this annual film festival. Screenings in this festival include classics and premieres.
Easton, Maryland
MTS provided video projection equipment and support for screening the video submissions in multiple venues. MTS also provided 35mm projection support for the house projection system in the Avalon theatre.
Otakon
MTS provided all equipment for set-up of the 35mm projection hall including projectors, 42’ projection screen, and Dolby (SRD) Digital Surround Sound system for multiple days of screenings with audiences nearing 2,000 people inside the Baltimore Convention Center.
Film Festivals
35 mm motion picture has been the foundation of Metro Technical for 30 years. MTS was founded as a theater installation and service provider and employs dedicated film and Dolby technicians. Our experience servicing the movie theater industry allows us to transform virtually any venue into a state of the art cinema house. This has allowed us to present a number of Hollywood premieres and screenings in special venues all over the Mid-Atlantic region.
