The City of Frederick’s Office of Special Events would like to thank you for your contribution to the premiere of Sumer Nite Cinema. The turnout for the movie “Grease” was outstanding!

The Frederick community enthusiastically embraced the idea of a free outdoor movie in Baker Park. It was incredible to see as many as 3,000 people relaxing on lawn chairs, or stretched out on a blanket in the grass. Our 1950’s diner in the bandshell was a hit, and judging from the number of poodle skirts in the park, so was the best dressed contest!

Our office continues to receive phone calls and e-mails from folks asking for another movie. We hope to be able to make this happen. In the meantime, thank you again for your help with Sumer Nite Cinema. It is community-minded businesses like yours that make Frederick such a special place to live.
